Back and Gone Again!!!

Erika just returned from Los Angeles with Katy from the shop on another buying trip. We are preparing like mad to create Christmas in the shop and they brought tons of new things for you all!! If you stop by the shop this week, please be prepared for the frenzy as we are getting closer for our Holiday Open House, Saturday, November 14th from 10-6. While the cards are not back from the printers, we want you not to worry....we will be ready for you on Saturday so please be sure to stop by. Its our first Saturday event and the shop will be open all day!!! We will also have our vendor Trunk Show (a hit last Christmas) , and if the weather is great, two extra vendors outside too!
We were so busy today unloading Erikas truck and unwrapping goodies, I never asked if Erika took may pix....if she did, I am sure she will share them with you. However, we wanted to let you all know that we will be selling at the Sacramento Antique Faire selling tomorrow in spaces G8 and G9, with Katy and Clinton. Stop by and see us along the fence line!!

The story keeps changing but it is official, the show WILL go on...as far as we are concerned. By the hour, we keep getting calls that the show is on, is cancelled, is on, is cancelled. Being the diehards that we are, Erika and I, along with other dealer friends, will be going. So look for us in J22 and J23!!!
Thanks for all your patience and support, Sandy and Erika

Alameda Fun, October 2009!

Had another fantastic time at the Alameda Antique Faire this month. With Clinton, Katy and the usual gang in our row, Erika and I had a fantastic time. The weather was very clear and our view of San Francisco could not have been better. Erika often describes going to Alameda to sell as "camping out" and that is so true. If you have to get up at 1:30am to prepare and arrive at 4:30am, you really have to love it!
The booth of our friend Shane, from Los Angeles

Mix in large panel trucks, a huge yellow budget rental cargo truck, cold and damp weather (that early), and the personalities of those around you as you manipulate your vehicle into your space, you can only do that with a caffeinated sense of humor and total courteous coooperation!
Johan from Europe from Atelier de Campagne. Not shown is a wonderful friend Trinidad!!!

If you ever have the opportunity to go, come by and say hi to Erika and I (Space J23)!!

Trip to San Luis Obispo for "Remnants of the Past Antique Market"

Lemon groves leading to the Barn.

View from the market

Early to rise Saturday morning, 4:00am to be exact as the kids, Brett and I left for San Luis Obispo for "Remnants of the Past" Antique Market (5-1/2 hour trip). Sandy and I met Judy Watkins at The Alameda Antiques Faire some time ago. She had invited us to this wonderful Market in which she created about a year ago. Located in Nipomo, CA between Santa Barbara and San Luis Obisbo counties where the California country side is absolutely breath taking.

The rustic beauty of an old barn and farm equipment; will we ever get enough?

Several of these giant light fixtures lit the barn.

Pumpkin displays
Lunch, desserts & coffee is servedRow of flannel shirts line the barn wall.

To my surprise, our friend and shop owner, Kim of Bungalow, (Fair Oaks, CA) was one of the dealers on hand.
Beautiful barrel chair reupholstered by Bungalow.

Silver metallic dresser and night stand stunning in person. Another Bungalow display.
White & rust, need I say more!

Our friends of Euro Linens, look at this antique bed; someone hold me back!

Thank you Judy for have invited The Tattered House to your show! It was a lot of fun and I'm sure we'll make it again next year.

p.s.

Since we were only 30 minutes from Pismo Beach and it was my birthday, we stopped and watched these guys have some fun on the ocean.

Hope you enjoyed the pictures.

Arrivederci per oraes!

"The Tattered House Presents their Fall Antique Market" - Round 2!

After months of planning, the 2nd Roseville Antique Market came and went with great success. Crowds of antique goers came from areas such as, Orange County, Fresno, The Bay Area, Oregon and even from the Midwest.

And once again, Sandy and I were running back and forth and up and down Oak Street taking care of our dealers, customers and friends while Mark (Sandy's husband and Sister, Michelle) worked the shop for us. This time, Sandy and I ordered black & white Tattered House shirts to be able to identify each other and our team through the crowds of people. Which really worked by the way.

Here is our talented Katy, a new Dealer at The Tattered House, wearing a TH shirt.

"California’s eco-conscious shoppers turning to vintage"

Wow!! Sandy and I were surprised when one of our friends brought to us the latest issue of Antique Trader Magazine. Antique Trader Magazine asked permission from from The Press Tribune to also use the article for their magazine. We are so grateful that our shop is getting national exposure even with the typo "The Tattered Hat" under the picture of Connie shopping in our shop. LOL!! http://www.antiquetrader.com/article/california_shoppers_turning_to_vintage/

Also, our newest friend Bob of BLOG "Dream Tomorrow" captured some beautiful images of our shop. Thank you Bob!! http://bobtowery.typepad.com/

Bob spent over an hour capturing beautiful shots of the shop and we have now asked him to be our official photographer for our upcoming Antique Market, September 20Th.

Well....I better not show any more pictures now as we may be using some for upcoming adventures!!

Ciao,

Tattered Girl,
